Position Overview
The Legal Researcher / Real Estate Paralegal will support our title examiners/officers by conducting in‑depth legal and factual research, and assisting with case management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into public records, analyzing complex property issues, and keeping multiple moving parts on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, zoning regulations, land use issues, and property‑related matters
- Perform title searches, review title commitments, and identify potential defects or encumbrances
- Draft correspondence, memoranda, and summaries of research findings
- Coordinate with title companies, lenders, surveyors, and municipal offices
- Assist with due diligence for commercial and residential transactions
- Maintain organized case files and track deadlines
- Support title examiners/title officers with general administrative and title search‑related tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or relevant legal studies degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in real estate law, title work, or legal research
- Strong understanding of property records, land use concepts, and real estate transaction processes
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with legal research tools and real estate software (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, title platforms)
- Strong communication and client‑service mindset
